Rollerway is a fast-paced action game in which you must get the ball to the finish line whilst not falling off the track. There is a total of 15 levels, each getting progressively harder.

New version (1.0.7) out
- Arrow keys disabled by default
- Levels 1 and 2 are both slightly easier (slower)

How to play:

Use the mouse to control the ball (you may also use the arrow keys if enabled). Click to roll forwards and move the mouse sideways to steer the ball. Get the speed boosters (blue lights) and jump boosters (purple lights) which are placed throughout all 15 levels. Enjoy!

Requires DirectX 9.0c

SWEEEEEEEEEEEET. But I'm too sucked in by Dwarf Fortress atm to test it. (If there be needing of the testinging.)

Very good except too hard, I'll admit I couldn't get past the bit after the big ramp in level 2. :D

I got a "Runtime Error 8003 - Could not find path at line 2786" error when trying to launch it.
At Andrew: I got that first time, but then I reopened it and it worked.

Andrew, I'm currently uploading a version which should cause this bug to cease. Hope you get it working.
Alzza:

The uploaded version worked great! Thanks! I would've edited my original post instead of making a new one but I didn't see the option to rate the game when editing a post. Anyways, the game was really fun! The menu was very smooth and graphically appealing, the music was great and fitting, the background effect was very cool, and the game itself was difficult yet fun. Very well done.
Couldn't get past level 4 this time :C But very fun
Got to level 12 :D so freakin' hard... Has anyone noticed that sometimes when you hit the ground you bounce off to one direction as if you were hitting it from another angle?

Also, the levels have a ton of diagonal paths, I CAN'T get the hang of them, seeming as one must move the mouse at the EXACT speed needed and consistantly, too. Other than that, great game! Some features to consider for sequel/update/more levels are that some animated terrain would be nice, different backgrounds other than the warp tunnel thing would make it that much better (really good example would be a picture of part of Earth down the bottom, to make it feel really high. More features similar to boosts would be good, power-ups like levitation and releasable mega boosts etc would work well.

You also need to find a workaround to that BLOODY DirectX cache error.

Level 12 isn't bad at all! ;) It's supposed to be quite hard, especially so far into the game. I have implemented a semi-workaround for the 'unload' error - you can make the game run in windowed fullscreen mode instead of exclusive fullscreen mode with the command line -WINDOWFULLSCREEN. This will allow you to minimise the game w/o any problems. Also, it's best to go slow on the diagonals unless you're really good.
Ugh... I tried to change to my widescreen res in the settings.ini and it completely stuffed up the game and DELETED the settings.ini. And I lost my progress somehow.
Developer Comment
Whenever the game starts, it checks to see if settings.ini is there and if it isn't, it creates one. What res were you trying to set the game to?
60 downloads, congrats :D

This a fun game. Ill be honest, it took me about 40 seconds to figure out how to play the game, but after that I had a blast. I dont know what level Im on right now, it has a giant green ramp in the start. The game is hard, but not too too too hard. The levels are doable. I would maybe put in some way of knowing what level Im on when I load a game.
can you bring back the arrow keys
Developer Comment
You can activate them with the command line -ENABLEARROWKEYS

I don't recommend using them though since they don't give nearly as much control as the mouse.

Really good, would have been a 10/10 if there were two things: Checkpoints in mid-level, and a time limit. Great work! The game was really epic, stuck at last level (I think). EDIT: Yay I beat it! That was a really long tunnel at the end, though.
i reckon that this game is very similar to this game called rollin' which i used to play in grade 3. but this is much better.

Thanks for all the comments and ratings everyone!

Really great game, and really well presented :)

I was skeptical at first because of the number of clones of this type of game, but you managed to put a unique 'spin' on the ball rolling games.

10/10

This game is very addicting. I like it! I can hardly see any problems, and it even works good on my crummy computer! Good job, 5/5 (10/10) from me!

It's a very good game, but it's WAAAAAY to hard, I couldn't pass level 3. :'(
Very fun game... tried it with my Wacom Bamboo and worked perfectly. The only critique i could offer would be possibly use a drop shadow under the ball so players can better tell where they are landing.

Great game, took me a while to figure out what those big tall white things were. After that, I zoomed through the game. :D
LoL i love this game. 10/10. Oh did i also forget to mention that i can run Rollerway on High graphic plus also at 60fps LOL XD I think that is the max fps it can run up to cos I can run COD4 at 150fps on high.

Amazing game! Very proffesional and well presented. I would actually consider buying this as a value PC title. Great work!

Great gameplay, truly amazing, but the game is irritatingly difficult. Understand that i do not find challenging games annoying, but here it goes a bit over the top.
